Facilities & Compliance Manager

Near Southampton & the New Forest | Full Time

Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about keeping operations running safely and efficiently? We are looking for a Facilities & Compliance Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our established arboricultural business.

For over 25 years, Christopher Hoare Tree Services Ltd has delivered high-quality arboricultural services across domestic, commercial, utilities, timber processing, and waste management sectors. Based between Southampton and the New Forest, we pride ourselves on professionalism, safety, and operational excellence.

About the Role

This is a varied and hands-on role responsible for managing company facilities, vehicles, equipment, technology, and compliance systems to ensure our operations remain safe, efficient, and fully compliant.

You will work closely with our Head of Contracts & Operations and external Health & Safety consultant to support the business across all operational and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Management

Oversee maintenance and compliance of company facilities, vehicles, plant, and equipment
Coordinate MOTs, servicing, repairs, insurance, and vehicle taxation
Manage company stores, stock, loan equipment, and loan vehicles
Ensure all facilities and equipment meet health & safety and legal requirements
Maintain operational paperwork including PUWER, LOLER, HAVS, and vehicle checks
Manage IT and communications equipment including phones, laptops, and computers
Supporting with company inductions and manual handling training
Coordinate insulated rod testing and other compliance-related maintenance

Compliance & Health & Safety

Support and maintain company accreditations and ISO management systems
Work alongside external Health & Safety consultants to ensure ongoing compliance
Assist with audits, investigations, and compliance reporting
Monitor and record operational compliance data including incidents, absences, and paperwork
Review and update company policies and procedures
Support tender and framework submissions where compliance input is required
Attend management meetings and present facilities/compliance updates

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has excellent organisational and communication skills
Can manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
Is proactive, practical, and detail-oriented
Has a strong understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements
Is confident working independently and as part of a team
Takes pride in maintaining high operational standards

Essential Requirements

First Aid qualification
Manual Handling training
Knowledge or experience of ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems
Willingness to attend ongoing training, toolbox talks, and safety sessions

Desirable Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years’ industry experience
Office administration or facilities management experience
IT or administration qualifications
Manual handling assessor training
UA1 – Utility Arboriculture Basic Electrical Knowledge
Management training
Full UK driving licence
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
