Job Title: Sous Chef

Location

Reports To

Head Chef

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to support the daily operations of our clubhouse kitchen. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in delivering high-quality food service, maintaining kitchen standards, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. This role requires strong culinary skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to providing an excellent dining experience for members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality menu items.
Supervise kitchen operations during service and ensure food is prepared to established standards.
Support menu development, seasonal specials, and event catering requirements.
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain performance standards.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, ordering, and cost control.
Monitor kitchen cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service.
Assist in catering for clubhouse functions, tournaments, banquets, and special events.

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
Culinary qualification or professional cookery certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
Experience managing kitchen teams and coordinating service operations.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
