Full job description

Bakery Chef

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Bakery Chef/Baker to join our coffee shop team. The role focuses mainly on preparing fresh cinnamon buns, along with other baked goods and sandwich preparation for daily service. The ideal candidate will ensure products are freshly baked, well-presented, and prepared to a high standard to complement our coffee menu.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake fresh cinnamon buns daily (mixing dough, proofing, baking, and finishing).
Produce a small range of fresh baked goods such as pastries, muffins, or cookies.
Prepare and assemble fresh sandwiches for the café menu.
Ensure all baked goods and food items are fresh, high-quality, and well presented.
Manage preparation of ingredients, dough, fillings, and toppings.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and bakery workspace.
Follow food hygiene, health, and safety standards at all times.
Monitor ingredient stock levels and inform management when supplies need restocking.
Work efficiently to ensure products are ready for morning service and busy periods.

Requirements

Experience working as a baker, bakery assistant, or kitchen chef preferred.
Experience preparing yeast dough products such as cinnamon buns is a strong advantage.
Ability to prepare sandwiches and simple café food items.
Good time management and ability to work in a fast-paced café environment.
Ability to work early mornings if required.
Knowledge of food hygiene standards.
