Hola Amigos! A Warm Welcome From The Spanish Chef

I am Omar Allibhoy. I grew up in Madrid, Spain, and I have been a chef my entire life. It all started hosting friends and family since I was a young boy and have done it professionally ever since.

Over 25 years spanning Madrid and London, I trained in professional kitchens across Spain before moving to the UK with a clear mission: to bring authentic Spanish cuisine to British audiences.

You might have heard of Tapas Revolution, the largest group of Spanish restaurants in the UK which I founded 13 years ago. I am a published author of four books on Spanish cuisine and used to regularly be on TV shows like BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and Sunday Brunch.

Over the past two decades, I have partnered with major brands including San Miguel, Estrella Damm and Campo Viejo, and worked closely with ICEX, Food & Wines from Spain and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture. I am currently the EU ambassador for Jamón Ibérico and Ramón Bilbao's Rioja wine ambassador.

About Us

The Spanish Chef is a premium Spanish catering business and online shop founded by Omar, a renowned Spanish chef with 25+ years of culinary experience. We specialise in authentic Spanish cuisine catering for corporate events, private parties, immersive cooking classes and supper clubs, plus an online shop selling authentic Spanish produce.

Job Overview

We’re seeking a passionate foodie and a talented all-rounder digital marketer with strong social media and e-commerce skills to take our business to the next level, by managing and growing both our digital presence and e-commerce offerings.

Someone who genuinely loves food, understands digital marketing, and can bring authentic passion to The Spanish Chef brand. You’ll work directly with Omar and have creative freedom to shape our digital strategy and e-commerce offerings.

Please note that we are a small team, so the successful candidate must be a proactive team player and multitasker, a superstar willing to get stuck in and also support with adhoc tasks outside of their main remit.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a renowned chef and be part of an exciting growth phase. You might already be an expert or perhaps you have recently graduated.

Position Type: Freelance
Hours: Full time. 1-2 days week at The Spanish Chef HQ (London, NW2 5PG) and remote working on remaining days.
Start Date: ASAP
Location: London-based – must be able to travel to work to The Spanish Chef HQ and attend the odd event, shoot and collaborations as and when required.

Compensation: starting from £1,500 per month.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media (C.45%)

Develop and execute content strategy across all channels - Instagram (primary), , YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook and TikTok
Shooting, editing, and creating engaging, authentic content showcasing Spanish cuisine, recipes, and Omar’s expertise
Manage content calendar and optimise posting schedules for maximum engagement
Promote, build and engage with The Spanish Chef community, growing followers among UK-based audiences
Monitor analytics and adjust strategy based on performance

E-commerce Management (C.35%)

Managing The Spanish Chef website in its entirety
Drive email marketing campaigns e.g. outreach to our database and managing mailshots
Optimise online shop for conversions and user experience
Create compelling, SEO-friendly product descriptions
Manage product listings for online shop
Implement cross-selling and upselling strategies
Analyse sales data and identify growth opportunities

General - Adhoc Support (C.20%)

Assisting with client enquiries e.g. quotes
Supporting with client events

Please note that weightings are indicative and may flex depending on business priorities.

Essential Skills

2+ years of proven experience managing social media for content creators or brands
1+ years of proven experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.)
Proven track record of growing engagement and/or online sales
Strong copywriting skills across social, email and product content
Experience shooting and editing food photography/video (proficient in design and editing tools e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or similar)
Understanding of SEO principles
Genuine passion for food, cooking and hospitality
Creative and digitally savvy with the ability to think outside of the box
Excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Flexible, agile and resourceful team player

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of Spanish cuisine or culture
Experience with food brands or hospitality industry
Familiarity with Google Ads or paid social advertising
Experience managing influencer or ambassador campaigns
