Job summary

Dr R K Arora is a well-organised, friendly and long-established GP Practice based in the modern and spacious Lyng Centre in West Bromwich. We have an exciting opportunity for a receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team.

The ideal start date will be in September 2026 but we are willing to wait a bit longer if the right candidate is found.

We are offering a part-time role of 26.25 hours per week with hours spread across 5 days. Morning shifts start at 08.00 and evening shifts finish at 18:30. There is occasional cover required on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 18:30 - 20:00 which is paid at an enhanced rate. There is also occasional Saturday cover required, as a team of 7 there are approximately 2- 3 shifts per year allocated to each reception team member. APPLICANTS WHO CANNOT WORK THESE SHIFTS NEED NOT APPLY.

Experience within the healthcare sector is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to work in a team of medical receptionists on a rotational basis to cover core opening hours. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills to cover a range of reception duties including:

answering the phone
dealing with patient queries
booking appointments in accordance with protocols
liaising with members of the clinical and non-clinical team
helping out with prescriptions
answering the door
