Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet client specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship to contribute to diverse projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Applicants should possess strong communication skills and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure smooth application of paints and finishes
Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other decorative coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Interpret technical drawings and project specifications accurately
Ensure all work is completed within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or any issues encountered
Assist in the organisation of materials and tools required for each project

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction painting or decorating roles is desirable
Strong knowledge of different painting techniques and materials
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Valid driving licence is advantageous for site travel purposes
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively within a team
Organised with excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks such as lifting equipment and working at heights if necessary

Position is offered on a cis basis

Local pick up around Ashton in Makerfield or Springfield area. Work is around northwest but mainly in Wigan area.

Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm

Pay: £20.00-£21.00 per hour
