Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team at our Stroud Station branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a setting where attention to detail and a passion for coffee are highly valued. Candidates should be organised, personable, and committed to delivering an outstanding experience for our customers.

Some 6am starts are essential for this position.

Lone working is required at this location.

Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Serve customers in a timely and friendly manner, taking orders accurately and handling transactions efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, equipment, and seating spaces in accordance with food safety standards.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including food safety protocols.
Food preparation tasks required, such as cooking pastries, making breakfast rolls, filled croissants and sandwiches.
Manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Uphold the organisation’s brand image by providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Skills

Proven Barista experience or background in food service is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to serve customers courteously and efficiently, demonstrating strong serving skills.
Basic food preparation skills to assist with additional menu items when necessary.
Competence in basic maths for handling cash transactions accurately.
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills to engage positively with customers and team members.
Organised approach to work with attention to detail in all aspects of the role. This position offers an engaging environment for those passionate about coffee culture and delivering exceptional customer experiences. We value team players who are eager to learn and grow within our organisation.
