At Fosters Funeral Directors, we understand that arranging a funeral is one of the most important and emotional decisions a family can make. We are looking for a compassionate, organised and customer-focused Funeral Arranger to support families through every stage of the funeral planning process.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional service, building trusted relationships and ensuring every family receives the highest standard of care and support.

About the Role

As a Funeral Arranger, you will be the first point of contact for many of our clients, guiding them through funeral arrangements with empathy, professionalism and attention to detail. You will work closely with operational teams, and local communities to ensure every funeral service is arranged seamlessly and delivered to the highest standard.

Alongside supporting bereaved families, you will be responsible for administrative processes, maintaining accurate records, handling financial transactions and promoting the full range of funeral products and services available.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Care & Funeral Arrangements

Welcome families and customers, identifying their needs and providing appropriate guidance on funeral products and services.
Conduct funeral arrangement meetings and explain available options with sensitivity and professionalism.
Present the Fosters service proposition in line with company procedures, ensuring customers are supported in making informed decisions.
Manage customer enquiries and expectations throughout the funeral planning journey.
Collect and accurately record all information required to arrange and deliver funeral services.
Be available during normal office hours to support customer visits and, where appropriate, assist with preparations within the Funeral Home.

Sales & Service Development

Promote and explain the full range of funeral products and services, including:
Funeral packages and services
Memorial masonry products
Pre-Paid Funeral Plans
Identify opportunities to support customers with additional products and services while maintaining a caring and sensitive approach.
Uphold and promote the Fosters brand and reputation through exceptional customer service.

Administration & Financial Management

Maintain accurate customer, funeral and service records on company systems.
Ensure all systems and databases are updated promptly and accurately.
Produce invoices, process payments and administer cash handling procedures in accordance with company policies.
Manage clerical and administrative processes within the Funeral Home to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Liaise with funeral logistics teams and colleagues to coordinate funeral arrangements effectively.

Stakeholder Management

Liaise with clergy, local authorities, crematoria, cemeteries and other external organisations to secure essential funeral-related services.
Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent service delivery.

Funeral Home Standards

Assist in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming Funeral Home environment.
Support general housekeeping and cleanliness standards across both public and private areas of the premises.
Report any building, equipment or maintenance issues to management.

Learning & Development

Participate in all required training and development activities.
Continuously develop knowledge and skills to ensure excellent service delivery and professional growth.

Regulatory Responsibilities

As part of this role, you will:

Read, understand and comply with all relevant conduct rules and regulatory requirements.
Successfully complete all required FCA-regulated training.
Maintain the required 15 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) annually.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and regulatory obligations when carrying out regulated activities.

Desirable

Previous experience in funeral services, customer service, administration, hospitality or a caring profession.
Experience handling sensitive or emotional customer situations.
