Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Cleaning Operative to join our professional cleaning team. This role involves maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within healthcare environments, ensuring a safe and sterile setting for patients, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing specialised cleaning tasks in accordance with health and safety regulations, contributing to the overall well-being of the healthcare facility. Prior experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or hospital environments is highly desirable. Responsibilities

Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, operating theatres, corridors, and communal areas within healthcare premises.
Use specialised cleaning equipment and chemicals in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Ensure all surfaces are sanitised effectively to minimise the risk of infection transmission.
Follow strict protocols for waste disposal and biohazard management.
Restock supplies such as hand sanitiser, tissues, and cleaning materials as required.
Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly.
Adhere to infection control policies and procedures at all times to uphold hygiene standards.
Work efficiently within allocated timeframes while maintaining attention to detail.

Experience

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred.
Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning procedures is desirable.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning practices within healthcare settings is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to healthcare environments by maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards essential for patient safety and infection control. The ideal candidate will be reliable, diligent, and committed to delivering high-quality service in a sensitive setting.

Working hours - 08:00 - 13:00 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Total-25 hours per week,

Location - Thirsk.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
