Job Overview Working in a School - Term time only role - 38 weeks per year plus holidays - spread over 52 weeks

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook/Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in food preparation and kitchen experience to showcase their culinary talents in a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will contribute to creating a memorable dining experience for our guests through their expertise and dedication.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to maintain quality and consistency
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control to minimise waste
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods
Serve food to guests in a professional and courteous manner when required
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to uphold a safe working environment

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef within a restaurant or similar setting
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Strong skills in meal preparation, plating, and presentation
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Previous experience in restaurant service or serving is advantageous but not essential
A genuine passion for culinary arts and delivering exceptional customer service
