Full job description

Setna iO is a US-based organisation with an established UK operation, specialising in the supply of aftermarket aircraft parts for commercial, regional and business aircraft. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our customers and maintaining a strong quality system that enables us to be a trusted and reliable supplier of aircraft components. We are also proud to have been named as a Sunday Times Best Place to Work, and to have recently received Great Place to Work accreditation.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Receiving & Inspection Operative to join our team at our new UK headquarters in Pitstone, Buckinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-focused and keen to develop their skills within the aviation and aircraft parts industry. The role plays an important part in ensuring that all incoming aircraft parts are correctly received, inspected, documented and entered into our systems before being made available for sale. Full training will be provided on our systems, processes and aviation-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection

· Receiving incoming aircraft parts and associated documentation into the warehouse.

· Carrying out detailed visual inspections of aircraft parts upon receipt, checking for damage, condition and any discrepancies against our quality requirements.

· Taking clear photographs of received parts from all relevant angles, including caps, connectors, data plates, serial numbers and other identifying features.

· Ensuring photographs and supporting information are accurately uploaded and stored within the relevant systems.

· Checking that part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, descriptions and other identifying information match the accompanying documentation and purchase order.

· Identifying and reporting any discrepancies, damage, missing documentation or other issues with received parts.

· Referring to internal procedures, quality manuals and applicable external requirements when completing receiving and inspection activities.

· Checking the condition and status of life-limited or time-sensitive components and accurately recording relevant life information, including remaining life or expiry dates where applicable.

Documentation & Traceability

· Reviewing and checking aircraft component documentation received with parts, ensuring that the required paperwork and traceability information is present and accurate.

· Checking back to birth trace documentation and other supporting records relating to incoming aircraft parts.

· Reviewing documentation that can be extensive and technically detailed, with training provided to develop the required knowledge and understanding.

· Identifying documentation or traceability issues and working with colleagues, vendors and third parties to resolve them.

· Ensuring all receiving records are completed accurately and in accordance with company procedures.

· Maintaining a high level of accuracy when entering receiving information into internal systems.

Warehouse Operations

· Correctly labelling, identifying and locating received stock within the warehouse.

· Putting received aircraft parts away safely and accurately in their designated locations.

· Supporting accurate stock management and ensuring the physical stock and system records remain aligned.

· Loading and unloading vehicles using warehouse equipment, including Flexi forklift trucks where required (training will be provided).

· Stacking and de-stacking pallets using forklift equipment where required.

· Carrying out manual handling of aircraft components and warehouse materials in accordance with company procedures.

· Maintaining a clean, tidy and well-organised receiving and warehouse area.

· Ensuring received parts are handled, stored and protected appropriately to prevent damage or deterioration.

· Supporting other general warehouse activities where required.

General Responsibilities

· Responding promptly and professionally to queries relating to received goods.

· Working closely with colleagues across Operations, Purchasing, Quality and other departments to resolve receiving issues.

· Following all company policies, procedures and health & safety requirements.

· Maintaining confidentiality and security of company, supplier and customer information.

· Contributing to a positive, professional and team-focused working environment.

· Taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your own work.

· Undertaking other reasonable duties within the scope of the role as required.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, methodical and naturally curious, with a genuine interest in learning about aircraft components and the aviation industry.

Essential

· Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

· Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

· Ability to follow detailed procedures and work accurately within a quality-controlled environment.

· Ability to quickly learn and use new systems and online platforms.

· IT literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to identify discrepancies and demonstrate an inquisitive approach to investigating issues.

· Proactive 'can do' attitude with a willingness to learn and take responsibility.

· Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

· Reliable and conscientious approach to work.

· Comfortable undertaking physical warehouse duties, including manual handling.

Desirable

· Previous warehouse, goods-in or receiving experience.

· Previous experience working with stock management or warehouse management systems.

· Forklift or Flexi forklift experience.

· Experience working in aviation, aerospace, engineering, logistics or another quality-controlled environment.

· Experience working with technical documentation or traceability records.

Full training will be provided, so previous aviation experience is not essential for the right candidate.
