Full job description

Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our team in a mixed office and sales role. This position involves handling customer enquiries, processing orders, coordinating wagon transport routes, and supporting sales growth across our turf, topsoil, and compost product lines.

There is scope to progress to office and sales manager in a small family run business. This is a quick and fast paced job that is totally different to large corporate firms.

Working hours are 7:30am - 5pm

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Order Processing
Handle incoming orders by phone and online.
Provide product information and support to new and existing customers.
Transport & Logistics Coordination
Plan and organise wagon delivery routes efficiently.
Liaise with our driver and other staff to maximise productivity.
Sales & Business Development
Demonstrate strong sales initiative to maintain and grow customer accounts.
Conduct site visits to potential customers during quieter periods (in consultation with directors).
Seasonal Workflow Management
Adapt to the highly seasonal and weather-dependent nature of the business.
Assist with administrative and office tasks as needed.

Desired Experience & Skills

Experience in horticultural sales, landscaping materials, or bagged topsoil/compost products (preferred).
Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills.
Ability to plan and coordinate transport routes.
Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ideal Candidate

You’ll suit this role if you enjoy a varied workload, are confident on the phone, and have an interest in horticulture or landscaping materials. You should be comfortable taking initiative, working with directors on new business opportunities, and adapting to seasonal demands

Pay: £25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
