Board Member for Prospect (GB) Ltd

Prospect (GB) Limited, a subsidiary of The Riverside Group Ltd (TRGL). Candidates are invited to apply for one of two roles coming up for vacancy on the Prospect Board:

non-executive Chair (and therefore Member) of Prospect (GB) Limited Board.
non-executive Member of Prospect (GB) Limited Board.

For the Chair role, you should address both the Board Member specification and the additional Chair specification. Though not mandatory, please also complete the Equalities and Diversity form. Interviews will be held in two stages: First stage interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams on 25 and 29 September and 2 October 2026 and final stage interviews will be held at our Head Office in Speke, Liverpool on Friday 16 October 2026.

Background

Prospect (GB) Ltd is looking to recruit two individuals who have the knowledge and experience set out in the person specification. The successful candidates will take up a place on the Prospect Board for an initial three-year term with the possibility of a second three-year term.

The successful candidates joining the Board will provide leadership and help shape how Prospect delivers on its values, whilst also expanding their own skills and experiences.

About the Prospect Board

The purpose of the Prospect Board is to provide strategic leadership through development plans, financial forecasting and enabling the Senior Management Team to manage the operational challenges the organisation may face.

About the Roles

We are looking for two non-executive Members to join our Prospect Board; one as Chair of the Board and the other as a member of the Board . This role requires operational leadership experience in house building.

It is essential that our governance community promote Prospect’s values and vision. Customers are at the heart of everything that we do, and Board members must be committed to work in the best interests of our current and future customers.

Terms & Conditions

The total time commitment is estimated at seven days per year which includes four formal Board meetings per year (via Microsoft Teams). In addition , members will be invited to join in-person site visits, currently scheduled for two days per year.

Other activities include induction, appraisal and training/development activities and other ad-hoc meetings for urgent matters. The successful candidate will be encouraged to visit sites and meet colleagues to enable members to gain a better understanding of the activities of the organisation.

The role of a Board Member

Apply their skills, knowledge, and experience to actively contribute to the Board’s work in discharging its responsibilities as set out in the Articles of Association.
Support and constructively challenge the Senior Team and other officers.
Attend functions, away days and other meetings as required from time to time.
Undertake induction and appraisal activity in line with the Board’s agreed programme.
Keep their knowledge and skills up to date, taking part in appropriate learning and development activities that aim to maintain and develop competence and improve performance.
Promote and champion the organisation’s values.
Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with non-executive colleagues, executives, and officers.
Attend, prepare for and participate in Board meetings.
Comply with the company’s Code of Conduct and the Agreement for Services.
Display passion, energy, and enthusiasm for the role and for Prospect’s vision and values.
Be committed to working in the best interests of current and future customers.
Be a strong leader with personal and professional credibility.
Be confident in making independent and critical judgments and in facilitating debate to ensure risks and alternative courses of action are properly considered.
