Overview

Join our vibrant team as a Barista and become the heart of a welcoming coffee experience! In this energetic role, you'll craft delicious beverages, serve customers with enthusiasm, and create a warm environment that keeps guests coming back. Your passion for quality and exceptional service will shine through as you manage food preparation, maintain food safety standards, and handle transactions efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, friendly setting while making every customer’s visit memorable.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of high-quality hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and other café drinks.
Operate a commercial espresso machine and coffee grinder to produce consistently excellent coffee.
Steam and texture milk to a high standard for a variety of coffee beverages.
Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, equipment, and surrounding work areas.
Prepare and restock milk, syrups, coffee beans, cups, lids, and other supplies throughout the day.
Bake and prepare cakes, cookies and other café items as required.
Ensure all baked goods are presented attractively and replenished throughout service.
Wash and sanitise coffee equipment, utensils, crockery, and workstations.
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and stock rotation (FIFO).
Complete opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, restocking, and preparing the café for the next shift.
Deliver exceptional customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
Adhere to all food hygiene, health & safety, and company procedures.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Barista is essential.
Fluent English is Essential
Must have experience operating a commercial/manual espresso machine (experience with automatic bean-to-cup machines alone is not sufficient).
Strong knowledge of coffee extraction, grinder calibration, milk steaming, and drink preparation.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
Previous baking experience or confidence in baking cakes, cookies, pastries, and other café items is essential.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
High standards of cleanliness and organisation.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
Latte art skills are desirable but not essential.
