Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plater/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding capabilities, particularly Flux Cord/MAG welding, and have experience working with various materials including sheet metal. This role involves fabricating and assembling components with precision and attention to detail, contributing to high-quality production standards. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to develop their expertise within a dynamic environment.

Duties

Perform Flux Cord/MAG welding and other welding techniques on a variety of steel components.
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to assemble, fabricate, and repair metal structures
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly
Operate machinery and equipment safely in accordance with health and safety regulations
Measure, cut, and shape materials using appropriate tools and techniques
Conduct quality checks on finished work to ensure compliance with specifications
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety standards at all times
Assist in the assembly of components as required, ensuring precise fitting and alignment

Experience

Proven experience in Flux Cord/MAG welding, with a strong understanding of various welding techniques.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication processes involving sheet metal
Mechanical knowledge relevant to industrial assembly and manufacturing environments
Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics accurately
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes
Experience working with assembly processes in a manufacturing setting is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding and metal fabrication is highly valued

This role is suitable for motivated individuals.

Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, safety consciousness, and a proactive approach to their work.

Pay: £21.91 per hour
