Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, contributing to the enhancement of spaces through colour and decorative finishes. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes with precision and care.
Mix paints and colours as required to achieve desired shades and effects.
Use a variety of tools including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding equipment safely and effectively.
Ensure all work is completed within specified deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including the safe disposal of waste materials.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements.
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks on site.

Skills

Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and decorating techniques.
Excellent communication skills in English to liaise with clients and team members clearly.
Good organisational skills with the ability to plan tasks efficiently.
Valid driving licence is preferred for travelling between sites.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
Attention to detail ensuring high-quality results on every project.
