Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food preparation, and extensive kitchen experience. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development within the hospitality industry and involves working in a professional and supportive setting.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training new team members and ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, presentation, and portion control.
Coordinate daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow during service hours.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the kitchen environment.
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste and control costs.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Support in serving dishes during busy periods when necessary and ensure excellent customer service is maintained.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
Excellent culinary skills with a focus on quality presentation and flavour balance.
Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings with a focus on high-quality service delivery.
Leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure.
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments.
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the business needs.

Pay: £12.81-£13.50 per hour
