Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm)

Job Summary

As Maintenance Support at Earlscliffe, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the College's buildings, grounds, and facilities. Working as part of the Maintenance team, you will undertake a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, support improvement projects, and help maintain a high-quality environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your contribution will be essential in ensuring the College remains safe, compliant, and well-presented at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance of buildings, grounds, plant, and equipment.
Complete minor repairs promptly to minimise disruption to operations.
Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of maintenance and improvement projects.
Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, diagnose faults, and implement effective temporary or permanent repairs.
Maintain appropriate stock levels of maintenance materials, tools, and equipment, coordinating procurement as required.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety legislation, company policies, and statutory regulations.
Conduct routine safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective action where necessary.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, repairs, and asset information.
Prepare maintenance reports and provide updates on completed work, outstanding issues, and planned activities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to support the efficient operation of the facility.

Person Specification

Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally within a similar environment.
Good working knowledge of building systems, plant, equipment, and general maintenance practices.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and practical approach.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications, certifications, or vocational training in a maintenance discipline (e.g. electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or building services) are desirable.
A sound understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.

Working Conditions

Occasional evening, weekend, or out-of-hours working may be required to respond to emergencies or support planned maintenance activities.
The role involves physical work, including lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and undertaking manual handling tasks.
Work may be carried out both indoors and outdoors and in varying environmental conditions.

Pay: £25,000.00 per year
