Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and professional Bar/Waiting Staff to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service in a lively restaurant or bar environment, ensuring a memorable experience for all patrons. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry, working in a fast-paced setting that values teamwork, efficiency, and a friendly demeanour. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Duties

Take orders from guests accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service throughout their visit.
Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation standards are maintained.
Assist with food preparation and organisation in the kitchen as required, adhering to food safety standards.
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining genuine guest engagement.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar and dining areas, including setting up tables and clearing after service.
Handle cash and card transactions accurately, ensuring correct billing procedures are followed.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols.
Provide excellent guest services by answering questions about menu items and making recommendations when appropriate.
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow.

Skills

Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation skills.
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable manner.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tables efficiently.
Basic maths skills for handling payments and bills accurately.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Time management skills to ensure timely service delivery during busy periods.
Knowledge of culinary practices or previous kitchen experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Willingness to learn new skills such as upselling techniques and advanced food safety procedures.
