Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pub Chef to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, culinary arts, and kitchen management, with a focus on delivering high-quality dishes in a lively pub environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your leadership and culinary talents while ensuring excellent service and food safety standards. Previous supervising experience and a background in restaurant or hospitality settings are highly desirable. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing food preparation, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for both staff and patrons.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of pub-style dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate served
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain efficient operations
Manage food production processes, including ordering supplies, stock control, and ensuring freshness of ingredients
Oversee food safety standards, adhering to health regulations and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen
Lead the team during busy service periods, coordinating tasks to optimise workflow and minimise wait times
Assist in menu planning and development to keep offerings innovative and appealing to customers
Maintain a positive team environment through effective leadership and communication
Serve as a point of contact for customer feedback related to food quality and presentation

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a pub, restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience with strong team management skills
Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
Experience in food production, culinary arts, and menu development
Good understanding of hospitality operations including serving practices and customer service excellence
Previous experience in restaurant or pub environments preferred but not essential; relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous
