Job Description

Britannia Acoustic & Fire is looking for an experienced Fire Door Remediation and Installation Supervisor / Technician to support projects across London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, working primarily within social housing and vulnerable housing environments.

Key Responsibilities

· Carry out inspections and assessments of existing fire-rated doors, identifying required repairs, upgrades, or replacements.

· Install, remediate, and maintain fire-rated doors in accordance with fire regulations, safety requirements, and manufacturer guidance.

· Install and maintain fire-rated door hardware, including locks, hinges, closers, seals, and panic devices.

· Ensure works comply with fire safety regulations, including fire ratings, smoke sealing, and door clearances.

· Complete routine fire door inspections, compliance assessments, and reports.

· Maintain accurate records of inspections, installations, repairs, and remedial works.

· Inspect, troubleshoot, and proactively resolve maintenance issues.

· Ensure all works are completed in line with health and safety requirements and safe working practices.

· Manage fire protection contracts from start to completion.

· Lead, motivate, and develop site teams, including apprentices.

· Oversee subcontractors and operatives to ensure quality delivery.

· Build and maintain strong client relationships.

· Support business growth within the fire protection division.

· Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.

Essential Requirements

· Experience installing, upgrading, inspecting, and maintaining fire doors.

· Valid CSCS card.

· Full PPE and own tools.

· Valid UK driving licence.

· Strong understanding of fire safety regulations, compliance programmes, and safe working practices.

· Sound carpentry knowledge and excellent attention to detail.

· Health and safety awareness.

· Experience in contracts management.

· Trade experience, with fire protection knowledge highly desirable.

· Experience working in social housing or commercial property compliance.

· Knowledge of passive fire protection and fire doors.

· Proven leadership and team management skills.

· Experience managing operatives and subcontractors.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

· BM TRADA knowledge or certification.

· FIRAS certification.

· IFC Supervisor qualification.

· IFE Level 2.

· Fire door or fire stopping inspection diplomas.

· IOSH qualification.

· Relevant NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent.

· ASFP Level 1.

· SSSTS or SMSTS.

· NVQ Level 2 Carpentry.
