Full job description

*Job Summary*

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Care Worker to provide essential care and support to individuals in their homes. This role involves administering medication, assisting with moving and handling, hoisting, and providing personal care, including showering. The successful candidate will help ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of those in need of daily assistance.

Please note that the job involves multiple short hours per day.

*Duties*

Administer prescribed medications accurately and in accordance with guidelines.
Assist individuals with moving and handling, ensuring safe techniques are used.
Operate hoisting equipment to assist with mobility and transfers as needed.
Provide personal care, including assistance with showering, dressing, and maintaining hygiene.
Monitor individuals' health and report any changes in condition or concerns to healthcare professionals.
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for individuals in their care.
Offer emotional support and companionship, helping to promote independence where possible.
Adhere to all relevant care standards, health and safety protocols, and individual care plans.

*Skills*

Experience in home care, healthcare, or a similar caregiving role.
Competence in administering medication following prescribed guidelines.
Proficiency in safe moving and handling techniques and experience with hoisting equipment.
Ability to provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient attitude.
Basic understanding of health and safety protocols within a care environment.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Relevant care qualifications or certifications (preferred but not essential).
