On the 1 August 2026, The University of Greenwich and the University of Kent formed a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South- East (LASE) University Group. If you have the skills and motivation to help our students achieve success at Kent, we would welcome your application to this front-facing administrative role in our Student Enquiries, Retention & Engagement team.

The main focus of the role is providing essential, front-line support to students so they have timely access to information and guidance, and consistent and practical advice to support them in continuation/completion of their studies.

You will be a first point of contact for students, working and advising in line with university policies, maintaining accurate records and managing sensitive information with empathy, professionalism and confidentiality.

As Retention & Engagement Support Coordinator you can expect to be involved in:

Acting as a contact point and referral service to students with difficulties that may impact their studies, and signposting students to other services.
Understanding and providing guidance to students and staff on university policies and procedures related to retention and engagement
Supporting the administration and implementation of procedures and work related to retention and engagement
Monitoring enquiries to the team via email, telephone or in person to ensure they are responded to promptly, consistently and to a high standard

What will you bring to the role?

Experience of working in an office environment with contact via email, phone and face-to-face, with a variety of people
Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience of and an ability to adapt your approach depending on student needs, to show empathy and be approachable to students who may be facing difficulties
Previous experience of working in a confidential environment in line with data protection and safeguarding guidance
Good IT skills and experience, and numeracy with an ability to process straight forward statistical information
