About Us

We are currently seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Banking Fraud and Consumer Claims Department at our Salford Quays office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain broad legal experience, work closely with clients and become an integral part of a growing and ambitious team.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role offering exposure to all stages of the claims process. Working closely with solicitors and senior fraud specialists members, you will assist with a range of banking fraud, APP fraud, scam investment and consumer financial claims matters.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the department's continued growth. You will be involved in client communications, drafting correspondence, progressing claims, gathering evidence, and assisting with the day-to-day management of cases. The role offers excellent opportunities to develop practical legal skills, gain hands-on experience, and take on increasing responsibility over time.

No two days are the same. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, proactive and willing to support the wider team wherever required.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with banking fraud, APP fraud, scam investment, and consumer financial claims.
Communicating with clients, banks, financial institutions and third parties by telephone (inbound and outbound calls), post and email.
Obtaining and reviewing evidence and supporting documentation for the claim.
Assisting with Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) complaints and submissions.
Maintaining accurate records and updating case management systems.
Drafting professional correspondence, including emails, letters, and other communications to clients, banks, financial institutions, third parties, and internal team members
Supporting solicitors and fee earners with legal and administrative tasks as required.
Assisting across different aspects of the department depending on business needs.
Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience working within a law firm, claims environment, financial services business or professional office setting.
Excellent telephone manner and confidence communicating with clients and third parties.
Strong written communication and drafting skills.
Experience using Case Management Systems (CMS).
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn and support the wider team.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable but Not Essential

Experience and understanding of dealing with consumer claims, financial disputes, or APP fraud claims.
Experience drafting complaints, letters of claim, or Financial Ombudsman Service submissions.

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per year (DOE)
