Full job description

Mayan Roofing Systems is a family-run company who invent, manufacture and distribute innovative roofing products. We are looking for someone to join our warehouse production team where the day-to-day can be exciting and chaotic, but we need someone ready to help make our product efficiently and to a high standard, get stuck in to get the job done, whatever it may be that day.

Starting wage is £13.50 per hour which will increase to £13.50 p/h once 3 month probation period is passed with incremental increases in line with national increases.

*** Looking for an immediate start day where possible ***

HOURS : Mon - Thurs - 8am- 4:30pm (half an hour lunch)

EARLY FINISH ON FRIDAY - 8am - 1:30pm

Overview of Role:

Located on our production line, you will be working independently to complete as many products as you can throughout the day, with your team around you to support.

You will work as part of a small team to ensure that products are manufactured to meet the demands of the customer and in accordance with the company quality standards. Working in an efficient and safe manner you will add to the overall productivity and profitability of the company.

Main Job Purpose (Job Description):

· Assembly operations of our ArmouredSlate and ArmouredStone products:

- Manufacturing our ArmouredSlate Product, working with adhesive, slate, GRP sheeting to bind the product together.

Must have attention for detail and focus for production output.

- Applying tape to various products, cutting and removing film from sheeting.

- Secondary operations - cutting various materials, grinding and finishing, product prep, pick and packing, drilling items, applying tape to products.

- Cutting items on a band saw, using a grinder for finishing processes, drilling stock, using various cutting machinery.

There are many other tasks within the factory that may be required as and when, such as:

- Sub-assembly of the relevant sub-components.

- Quality checking the product to ensure it meets the required standard

- Assisting with production of our may other products for the construction industry.

Important factors of the role:

- To maintain a safe working environment for you and others, ensuring that company and regulatory standards are achieved at all times.

- Keeping and tidy and organised workplace.

This list is not exhaustive. Other duties may be required to fulfil business commitments, such as:

· Loading, picking, packing and wrapping orders on pallets to be sent out.

· General warehouse tasks, cleaning up and assisting with R&D of new products.

Full training and PPE will be provided.

Person Specification

Essential:

· Hard working and efficient - able to concentrate on and complete the job in hand.

Ability to work towards production targets – Daily KPI’s will be set for work output once you are fully trained.

· Attention to detail and ability to provide high quality work output – care and attention is required when making our products.

· Ability to work independently when given a task and as a team when working towards a goal.

· Must be able to lift 20kg.

· Hard working ‘can do’ attitude.

· Excellent timekeeping.

· Ability to work under pressure.

· Ability to follow instructions to meet deadlines.

· Good communicator.

Desirable:

· Willingness to work extra hours as required.

· Forklift Truck Licence (counterbalance).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £12.50 per hour which will raise once training and probation has passed.
