Location: Twickenham, South West London
Days: Biweekly rota, Mon-Fri and Tues- Sat every other week.
Schedule: 40 hours per week. Full-time or near full-time considered. The role will include weekdays, some evenings and Saturdays as required. Exact working pattern to be agreed depending on candidate experience, clinic needs and availability.
Thames Skin Clinic is looking for an experienced Advanced Laser & Aesthetic Therapist to join our multi-award-winning, doctor-led medical aesthetics clinic in Twickenham.
This is a treatment-led role for a clinically minded therapist with strong experience in skin, laser and device-based treatments. The role also includes supporting the wider patient journey, including patient reviews, patient call-backs and front-of-house support when required.
We are looking for someone professional, warm, organised, safety-focused and passionate about delivering excellent patient care within a medical aesthetic environment.
The successful candidate will work with advanced skin, laser, facial, body and hair restoration treatments, with further training planned on clinic devices where appropriate.

You will only perform treatments once trained, assessed and signed off as competent.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality aesthetic, laser and device-based treatments in line with clinic protocols.
- Support treatment pathways for acne, rosacea, pigmentation, photodamage, hair restoration and general skin health.
- Carry out patient reviews and post-treatment call-backs.
- Provide patients with clear preparation, treatment, aftercare and rebooking guidance.
- Take high-quality clinical photographs where required.
- Complete accurate treatment notes on Pabau.
- Support ZO Skin Health patient education and skincare compliance.
- Follow all clinic protocols for consent, contraindications, aftercare and escalation.
- Support laser management and laser safety processes.
- Complete monthly device CQC checks.
- Carry out machine cleaning, room preparation and device maintenance checks.
- Complete laser logs, device logs and treatment records accurately.
- Escalate patient concerns, adverse events, contraindications or device issues promptly.
- Support front-of-house and patient coordination duties when required.
- Work closely with Dr Anna, the Practice Manager, Front of House and the clinical team.
Laser safety and governance
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a medical aesthetic environment where safety, documentation and protocols are essential.
Responsibilities include:
Following laser safety protocols
Supporting Laser Safety Officer processes
Maintaining accurate laser logs
Checking eyewear and room safety
Completing device checks
Cleaning and preparing machines correctly
Following CQC-related device and safety processes
Understanding contraindications and escalation pathways
Maintaining clear, accurate patient notes
Important scope of practice
This is not an injectable role. Thames Skin Clinic therapists do not perform injectable treatments within the clinic. Candidates seeking to build or continue an injectable practice alongside this role should discuss this before applying, as this may not be compatible with the position.
Essential requirements
Level 4 qualification in aesthetics, laser, IPL or beauty therapy
Core of Knowledge certificate
Experience working in an aesthetics, skin, laser or medical clinic environment
Confident delivering patient-facing treatments
Strong understanding of contraindications, consent, aftercare and treatment safety
Excellent communication skills
Professional, caring and well-presented
Strong attention to detail
Able to follow protocols carefully
Comfortable completing clinical notes and treatment records
Reliable commute to Twickenham
Available to work Saturdays as part of the rota
Comfortable with patient reviews and follow-up calls
Willing to complete a skills and treatment experience sheet as part of the recruitment process
Willing to provide evidence of relevant qualifications, certificates and training
Willing to complete internal competency sign-off before performing treatments independently
Desirable experience
- Advanced aesthetic, laser or device-based treatment experience
- Laser hair removal, vascular laser, pigmentation laser or skin rejuvenation treatments
- Microneedling, RF microneedling, HIFU, HydraFacial or advanced facial treatments
- Treatment journeys for acne, rosacea, pigmentation, photodamage, skin restoration or hair restoration
- Professional skincare knowledge, particularly ZO Skin Health
- Familiarity with advanced device platforms such as Cutera, Fotona, HydraFacial, Forma RF or similar technologies
- Use of Pabau or another clinic management system
- Previous work in a doctor-led, medical aesthetic or CQC-regulated clinic
- Understanding of laser safety, device checks, clinical documentation and treatment logs
- Experience working in a doctor-led or CQC-registered clinic
- Experience supporting laser safety or device checks

Full clinic induction will be provided.
Further training will be offered depending on experience, clinic needs and competency.

Where the clinic funds significant external training, a training agreement may apply.
Working pattern
Full-time or near full-time considered. The role is expected to be 5 days a week working Monday to Friday in week 1 and Tuesday to Saturday in week 2. Ideally 40 hours per week, other patterns will be considered, depending on candidate experience, clinic needs and agreed working pattern. The role will include weekdays, evenings and every other Saturday as part of the rota.
