CanDo Laundry Services is looking for reliable Production Operators to join our industrial laundry team in Telford, TF3 3AY.

This is a zero-hours / casual role paying £12.75 per hour. You will work in a hands-on, physically active production environment, helping to sort, process, fold, pack, and prepare laundry for our customers.

Full training is provided, but reliability, timekeeping, teamwork, and willingness to work in a busy production environment are essential. The role involves standing, moving, lifting, bending, sorting, loading, unloading, folding, and packing as part of the working day.

Shifts may include day shifts, twilight shifts, Monday to Friday, and optional overtime where available. Hours will vary depending on business needs.

This role is based on site only. Remote work is not available.

Location: Telford, TF3 3AY

Employment Type: Zero Hours / Casual

Hours: Hours will vary depending on business needs. Shifts may include day shifts, twilight shifts, Monday to Friday, and optional overtime where available.

Rate of Pay: £12.75 per hour

Role Purpose

The Production Operator supports the day-to-day running of the industrial laundry production floor. The role involves sorting, loading, processing, folding, packing, and preparing laundry to meet customer, quality, safety, and production standards.

This is a practical, physically active, on-site role in a busy industrial laundry environment. Full training will be provided, but applicants must be reliable, punctual, willing to learn, and able to work flexibly in line with business needs.

This role is based on site only. Remote work is not available.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry Processing

Sort laundry and textiles into the correct categories.
Load and unload industrial washing machines, dryers, and production equipment.
Operate industrial laundry machinery once trained.
Fold, pack, stack, and prepare clean laundry for delivery.
Follow instructions for different customer items, textile types, and production requirements.
Handle laundry safely and carefully to avoid damage, contamination, or quality issues.

Quality and Accuracy

Check items for quality, damage, staining, incorrect sorting, or other issues.
Follow Company standards for folding, packing, presentation, and hygiene.
Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items through the correct process.
Support the team in maintaining consistent production standards.
Take care to ensure customer items are processed correctly.

Productivity and Teamwork

Work efficiently to support daily production targets.
Move between production tasks as required by the Supervisor or Manager.
Support colleagues during busy periods.
Follow instructions and ask for help where needed.
Maintain a positive, cooperative, and respectful approach at work.
Work flexibly across different production areas depending on business needs.

Attendance, Timekeeping and Reliability

Attend agreed shifts on time and ready to start work.
Follow the rota or shift pattern where shifts have been offered and accepted.
Notify the Company promptly and correctly if unable to attend an agreed shift.
Understand that reliability, punctuality, and attendance are key requirements of the role.
Maintain good communication regarding availability.

Health, Safety and Compliance

Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
Wear required PPE at all times.
Use machinery and equipment only as trained and instructed.
Report hazards, near misses, accidents, equipment faults, or unsafe working practices promptly.
Follow Company policies relating to conduct, hygiene, quality, and data protection.
