Full job description

Job Overview
We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable and customer focused Front of House Team members to assist in our destination café set within a beautiful Nottinghamshire vineyard. Successful candidates will be the welcoming face of our establishment, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service in a lively hospitality environment. The café serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks, alongside private and corporate events, and acts as a welcoming community hub.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering warm, genuine hospitality in a relaxed but high-quality environment. Strong barista experience would be advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

Assist with the set-up and opening of the business
Support smooth day-to-day café and retail operations
Prepare a range of hot and cold drinks
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
Set up tables, organise seating arrangements, and ensure the dining area remains clean and inviting
Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu offerings, including catering options and specials
Support bar operations with barista duties if required, including preparing coffee and other beverages
Handle payments accurately using the POS systems
Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless service during busy periods
Handle customer queries professionally and positively
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of front-of-house and retail areas
Follow food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures

Skills

Experience in catering, serving, or hospitality roles, especially a destination cafe or similar venue, is desirable.
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Previous barista skills and experience are advantageous
Strong customer service skills
Perform effectively as part of a small team
Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Organised with strong attention to detail in all aspects of service and food handling
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends if required
A proactive attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
Knowledge of local produce, food, or drink is advantageous
