We are seeking a motivated, technically-minded individual to join our team as a Mobile Wheel Alignment Engineer for Commercial Vehicles. You'll travel to customer sites performing wheel alignment on commercial vehicles, working independently and managing your own schedule.

This is an exceptional opportunity to build a niche career with strong earning potential. Prior experience in wheel alignment or commercial vehicle mechanics is preferable but not required — full training is provided.

Basic Salary: £25–£30k dependent on experience, + commission. Typical OTE £30–£50k based on performance.

Hours: Flexible, with responsibility for managing your own diary. Full time, no fixed core hours — some early mornings, evenings, and Saturday work required.

Benefits: Company van, fuel, and tools all provided.

This is a home based role - with a company-supplied van and equipment and involves attending customers premises. You'll cover a wide territory in the North East and Cumbria working independently but with the support of the Company

Your exact location might be based in North Yorkshire, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, East Ridings, Cumbria or Northumberland with most work focussed around industrial and transport areas. Ideally you will have a background in the automative sector but comprehensive training will be given to make you an expert in Commercial Vehicle Wheel Alignment. The role may suit someone who is currently a plant fitter, tyre fitter, mechanic, or similar who is looking for a mobile role.

Key Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites and perform wheel alignment on commercial vehicles
Provide technical expertise on steering issues to customers
Diagnose wheel alignment issues on a variety of commercial vehicles (HGVS, coaches, vans, cranes, trailers, municipal etc.)
Work independently and manage own schedule
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with customers
Build relationships and further develop own customer base
Complete digital job sheets and reports accurately and on-time
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with company standards
Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to health and safety regulations
Keep your van and equipment in excellent state of working order

Candidate Requirements

Commercial vehicle/ HGV mechanical or other automotive experience would be ideal but not mandatory
Well organised, able to manage your own diary and paperwork
Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate must be physically strong and fit as they will be working under HGV vehicles using heavy tools
Full UK Driving licence wih no or few points
Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers
Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Able to work flexible hours as required
Wheel alignment experience advantageous but not required — full training given
A safe place to park a company van
