Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Car Painter to join our automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing vehicles to the highest standards. This role requires attention to detail, a good understanding of paint application techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment. The successful applicant will contribute to delivering exceptional quality work and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas to ensure a smooth paint finish
Mix paints and colours accurately according to specifications
Apply primer, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns or brushes
Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and carry out touch-ups or rework as necessary
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
Use hand tools and power tools effectively for surface preparation and finishing tasks
Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as required during the painting process
Ensure all work complies with company standards and client expectations

Experience

Proven experience as a Car Painter or in a similar automotive painting role
Mechanical knowledge of vehicle components and painting equipment
Proficiency with hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and brushes
Experience using power tools including spray guns and pneumatic sanders
Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or materials safely
Knowledge of colour matching techniques and paint mixing processes

Additional Information

Please note: All successful applicants will be required to complete a one-month probation period, during which they will be paid £12.50 per hour. Pay: £12.50-£15.00 per hour
