Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Nursery Manager to join our team at Yellow Wellies Bishop. This is a permanent position working 20–25 hours per week, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced nursery leader looking for greater flexibility while continuing to make a meaningful impact on young children's lives.

Working alongside our existing Nursery Manager, you will share responsibility for the leadership and day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children whilst supporting and inspiring a team of childcare professionals. Together, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of care, education and compliance across the nursery.

Duties

Work alongside the existing Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery, including staff scheduling and resource allocation.
Lead, motivate and supervise nursery staff to maintain high standards of childcare and education.
Develop and implement age-appropriate programmes that promote early childhood development.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety and safeguarding regulations.
Foster effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and nursery activities.
Organise staff training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Oversee administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting and reporting.
Maintain a welcoming environment that encourages children's social, emotional and educational growth.
Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
Drive the nursery's vision forward by continuously improving service quality and maintaining outstanding standards.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Nursery Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step into a management role.
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and support a team.
Extensive knowledge of childcare practices, safeguarding policies and the EYFS.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with children across various age groups within an early years setting.
A relevant childcare qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) as a minimum.
Ability to organise workload effectively whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
A genuine passion for delivering exceptional care and education for young children.
