Overview - Vocational Mentor

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people?

Inclusive Pathways Education is looking for a motivated, practical and enthusiastic Vocational Mentor to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to inspire young people through hands-on learning, helping them develop valuable life skills, confidence and independence in a supportive and nurturing environment.

You'll be working with small groups of students across Primary, Secondary and Post-16, delivering engaging vocational sessions in areas such as:

Vehicle & bike mechanics
Multi-trade construction
Equine care

This role is about much more than teaching practical skills. You'll use real-life experiences to build confidence, resilience, creativity, communication and problem-solving abilities, while supporting students with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD and SEMH. Every session should help young people feel successful, valued and capable of achieving their potential.

What we're looking for

We're seeking someone who:

Has practical experience in one or more of the vocational areas listed above.
Enjoys working with children and young people with additional needs.
Is patient, encouraging and able to build positive relationships.
Can adapt activities to meet individual learning needs.
Wants to be part of a forward-thinking organisation making a genuine difference.

Hours

This is initially a part-time role (2–3 days per week) with an immediate start.

As Inclusive Pathways Education continues to grow, we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us. There is a genuine opportunity for the successful candidate to increase their hours and progress into a full-time position as our vocational provision expands.
