Full job description

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Workers to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or senior care, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. All positions are paid, including internships, and offer an opportunity to work in a rewarding environment that values professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
Support clients with medication administration and meal preparation to promote health and nutrition.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a respectful and caring relationship.
Manage behaviour effectively, especially when caring for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Support clients with specialised needs such as hospice or dementia care, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring safe transportation.
Follow care plans accurately and document all care provided in compliance with organisational standards.
Respond promptly to emergencies by applying first aid procedures when necessary.

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is preferred.
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and behaviour management techniques is advantageous.
Certification in first aid is desirable; however, training can be provided for suitable candidates.
Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving transportation of clients.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required and maintain physical stamina throughout shifts.
