PSV Mechanic / Bus & Coach Technician

Atlantic Transport Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated PSV Mechanic to join our new in-house vehicle maintenance workshop. Based in Walkden, you will play a key role in maintaining our fleet of buses and coaches to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out routine inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on PSV vehicles.
Prepare and present vehicles for MOTs and other statutory inspections.
Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime.
Respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out roadside repairs when required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records in line with company and regulatory requirements.
Manage workshop consumables and assist with parts ordering.
Ensure the workshop is kept clean, organised, and compliant with Health & Safety standards.
Drive company vehicles when required for testing, collection, or delivery purposes.
Attend relevant training courses and support continuous professional development.

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year's experience as a PSV, HGV, or commercial vehicle technician.
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 qualification (or equivalent time-served experience with references).
Full manual PSV licence held for a minimum of 2 years.
Own set of tools.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high standards of workmanship.

Desirable:

Driver CPC qualification.
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Flexibility to assist with emergency breakdowns outside normal working hours.
