Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort, and promoting their independence. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives while developing valuable skills within the care sector.

Responsibilities

Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support individuals with mobility and daily activities, encouraging independence where possible
Follow personalised care plans to meet each individual's specific needs
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance well-being
Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions
Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families to ensure consistent care delivery
Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures
Support with light domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry as required

Skills

Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to build rapport and establish trust with residents and colleagues
Strong organisational skills to follow care plans accurately
IT literacy for maintaining records and updating care documentation
Driving licence is desirable for roles involving home care visits
Knowledge of care home procedures and home care services is advantageous
Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience are essential for providing compassionate support

Pay: From £13.25 per hour
