Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of goods within our warehouse environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in materials handling, warehouse management systems, and logistics operations. The role involves physical activity, including heavy lifting and load/unload tasks, and requires a proactive approach to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Handling materials efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques
Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stock replenishment
Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
Loading and unloading lorries or containers with care and precision
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment at all times
Supporting stock organisation through stocking tasks and inventory audits
Performing mechanical checks on equipment as required to ensure operational safety

Qualifications

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of materials handling techniques and warehouse management systems is advantageous
Valid forklift licence is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided for suitable candidates
Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely
Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse machinery is a plus
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and quality control
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and report issues promptly
