Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable adults and children, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The role requires a genuine caring attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in elderly or specialised care such as dementia or Alzheimer's is highly desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
Monitor and report changes in health or behaviour to relevant healthcare professionals
Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
Drive clients to appointments or social outings when required
Manage behaviour effectively, especially in clients with dementia or behavioural challenges
Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary

Skills

Prior experience in home care is advantageous, however all skills level welcome as training will be provided.
Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards vulnerable individuals
Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and senior care best practices
Ability to handle medication administration accurately and responsibly
Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams
Competent in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary restrictions
