About Us

At J Phillips Grab & Tipper Hire Ltd, we are a leading provider of haulage, waste management, and aggregate supplies across the North West. We operate a busy, fast-paced yard and rely on our fleet and heavy plant machinery to deliver top-tier service to our clients.

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Yard Manager to oversee our daily yard operations. We need a highly capable individual with a strong mechanical background who can keep our HGVs and plant machinery running smoothly, while actively jumping in to operate heavy equipment when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs: Lead the ongoing maintenance of our HGV fleet and diagnose/repair faults on heavy plant machinery.
Plant Operation: Safely and efficiently operate yard equipment, specifically excavators and wheeled loaders, to manage material flow.
Crushing Operations: Oversee and manage the operation of the jaw crusher for our aggregate recycling processes.
Yard Management: Ensure the yard operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Essential Skills & Experience

HGV & Plant Mechanics: Proven experience in HGV maintenance alongside strong mechanical skills to repair heavy plant machinery.
HGV Licence: Desirable but not essential
Machine Operation: Hands-on experience operating excavators and wheeled loaders is essential.
Crusher Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of operating and maintaining a jaw crusher.
Reliability: You must be highly punctual and flexible, as the demands of a haulage and waste management yard can change rapidly.
A proactive, problem-solving attitude with the ability to work independently.

What We Offer

Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
