Job Summary

ACCOTAX is a growing UK accountancy and tax practice with a friendly, ambitious team. We’re looking for a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Finance & Office Administrator to keep our office running smoothly. This is a hands-on, varied role at the heart of the practice ideal for someone who takes pride in getting things right, enjoys a busy day, and wants to grow with us.

The role

You’ll own the day-to-day finance administration and the smooth running of our Morden office from onboarding new clients and issuing invoices to chasing payments and keeping everything tidy and on time. No two days will be quite the same.

Key responsibilities

Client onboarding & offboarding — setting up new clients on our systems, gathering required information and documents, and handling departing clients cleanly and professionally.
Invoicing — ensuring invoices are raised and issued promptly for all work completed, so nothing is missed.
Credit control — chasing outstanding invoices, following up firmly but courteously, and keeping payments on schedule.
Direct Debits & payments — managing Direct Debit arrangements and ensuring client payments are collected and made on time.
Xero — maintaining accurate, up-to-date records and using the system confidently day to day for all our small companies.
Office administration — post, scanning, email and inbox management, filing, and keeping the office organised.
Ad hoc support — assisting the wider team with general tasks as the practice needs.

About you

Xero knowledge — working experience with Xero is essential.
Practice experience — previous experience in an accountancy practice would be a significant advantage.
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle several tasks at once.
Confident, professional communicator — comfortable chasing payments politely but firmly.
Reliable, punctual and trustworthy, with a genuine sense of ownership over your work.
Passionate, eager to learn, and excited to be part of a supportive and ambitious team.
