Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for managing appointments, handling administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where attention to detail and compassion are highly valued. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with prior office or administrative experience who are eager to contribute to patient care.

EMIS proficient desirable

Proven office experience, preferably within a healthcare setting or similar environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in using office software such as MS Office (Word, Excel) and practice management systems
Friendly demeanour with a professional attitude towards patient confidentiality and privacy
Previous administrative experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

This role is ideal for individuals committed to delivering outstanding patient service while maintaining efficient administrative operations within a healthcare setting.

GP Receptionist Vacancy

We are a small friendly village practice with supportive staff.

Pengam Health Centre is seeking a friendly, organised, and professional GP Receptionist to join our busy practice team.

The post is 16 hours over 3 sessions.

Minimum Wage .

Applicant must be able to work until 6.30 on some sessions flexible to keep up with practice demand and current primary care needs.

Main Duties Include:

Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice
Answering telephone enquiries and booking appointments dealing with General enquiries.
Managing patient manual and computerised records, administrative tasks in accordance with practice policy.
Process incoming mail.
Providing excellent customer service in a confidential healthcare environment
Supporting clinicians and the wider practice team
Process Repeat Prescription requests.
Problem solving any issues with competency with support from senior staff.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good organisational and IT skills Proficient in EMIS preferred.
The ability to work calmly in a busy environment
Previous reception or customer service experience (preferred)
Working in a Health Care Setting
A professional, caring, and team-focused attitude
GCSE English & Mathematics preferred
